Performance Materials Looks to DataCore for Upgrade to
AM-TeamWork
Cabot Performance Materials has been satisfied with using
AM-WorkFlow since 1995 to manage their engineering documents.
The company has experienced steady growth and expects to nearly
double its use
in the near future. Cabot is upgrading to AM-TeamWork so they
can add more users in their plant for quicker access
to manufacturing data. Managers at Cabot expect a smooth
migration of legacy data from AM-WorkFlow to AM-TeamWork due to
DataCore's expertise, and are looking forward to
taking advantage of AM-TeamWork's more powerful workflow and
application integration features.

Requirements,
Their Recording and Rationale
by
Pamela Aloia, Quality Manager
Our Project Delivery Methodology is the guideline by which
we execute all of our EDM projects at DataCore. In this third of
a series of articles, Pamela Aloia, our Quality Manager,
gives you a survey of the Define Phase of our projects, when we
gather, analyze and document the business, system, and user
requirements of an IT project. If you are considering
DataCore for an EDM project, we encourage you to click
here to read the entire
article.
Previous articles are also available for viewing at the

Upcoming
articles will discuss remaining phase in detail, providing
information on what tasks are included in each, how they fit
together and the benefits of each phase.
PowerUser
Tip
How
To Undelete Files
AM-Meridian's PowerUser makes moving and copying files (and
folders) as easy as using Windows Explorer. Unfortunately, it
also makes accidentally deleting files just as easy. When you
invoke one of the three ways to delete a document (click
Document|Delete, right-click and choose Delete, or press the
Delete key) the PowerUser's behavior is very similar to Windows
Explorer with two exceptions.
First, the confirmation dialog that PowerUser displays cannot
be disabled like Explorer. Second, documents deleted from
Meridian don't move to the Recycle Bin where they can be
restored. But they can still be rescued. You could use
AM-Meridian's History mode to go back in time a few minutes,
export the file to your desktop, then return to the present and
import the file, but you would lose all of the document's
history and metadata. Besides, there is an easier way--just
undelete the file.
Highlight the file's parent folder and either click
Folder|Undelete or right-click and choose Undelete. You will be
presented with a list of all documents deleted from the current
folder.

Within this list, you can then select the deleted document
and click the Undelete button to restore the document as though
it had never been deleted. Undelete is like having a recycle bin
for every folder in your vault.
A few additional rules apply to Undelete:
- The document must have been submitted at least once.
- Documents can only be undeleted in the present
("Now").
- Deleted documents cannot be searched for with Find.
- Documents can only be undeleted from their parent folder
or vault root.
